A LOVEly Garden

I absolutely love gardens, I have quite a few of them at my home… My favorite one that I started this year is a large wild flower garden.

I am much more interested in starting my garden from seeds and bulbs than I am going and buying flowers and planting them.

There’s something magical about planting the seeds/bulbs and watching them grow… It always amazes me how just a little seed, that you can barely see.. Can turn into something so beautiful and so amazing.

Nature for me is very calming, I not only love to have flowers in my gardens, but I also love to have cut flowers in my home. There is something so beautiful and uplifting about see beautiful flowers all around. I especially love it in the winter when it is cold, and in the summer when it honestly is almost too hot to go outside.

Many times we associate flowers with love… You see pictures of flowers when you’ll see people promoting love, or you see flowers on greeting cards… when you are sending them to somebody that you love.

Many of our most prominent “love” holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day etc. we really promote sending flowers… To someone to make them feel special.

With everything going on in the world right now… All the anger, all the hate… so many people just telling other people what to think, and how to feel and what to do… I’ve seen people point blank say if you don’t say this, you’re no longer my friend… That’s hurtful because we are all individuals and we all express ourselves differently.

This is especially upsetting to me because Peyton… Being an autistic adult, doesn’t always use words in the way that other people use them… He has seen some of this on social media, and it’s really hurt his heart.

The other day when I was outside in my garden looking at all the beauty and just trying to sit there and calm down… I thought you know we take these tiny little seeds and these bulbs and we plant them in soil, and we nourish them and we water them etc. etc. and they grow into these beautiful flowers.

Wouldn’t it be really awesome, if we as humans, stopped for a few minutes and realized that instead of planting seeds of anger and hatred and distrust… We stopped and listened to one another truly listened… Each one of us has a different life experience, and we can learn so much from that by sharing with others… truly sharing and listening and opening our hearts.

Imagine if we all decided to plant the seeds of love… Of listening… Of compassion… Of understanding… How much better we would feel… How much better we would be… And how much more beautiful the world would be!

I challenge each of you.. every time you see a flower.. to think about where can YOU plant that seed of love, acceptance, understanding, compassion and listening.

Together we can do better, together we can be better, but most of all together we can grow into something beautiful.

As always thanks so much for reading my blog!

Have an awesome and beautiful day!

My Fall Garden

I love to garden. I planted a garden in the Spring, some of my stuff grew, but some didn’t because it was so hot. We had a really hot summer last year, we again had a hot summer this year as well. I researched what plants were good for Texas summer, which was good, or I probably wouldn’t have had any plants! Me and my parents went to Lowe’s and picked out seeds I wanted in my garden. I picked out Sweet Viburnum, Morning Glory, Lavender, Broccoli, Cabbage and such. I was so happy that I got them, me and my mother helped each other plant my seeds in my garden!

I decided to do a Fall Garden. Last year, we went to my aunt and uncle’s house and help my uncle plant cauliflower and broccoli in his backyard garden, we both dug out before we started planting them. My uncle, who grew up on a farm, has had quite a few gardens over the years. I had such a good time! When the broccoli was finished growing, my aunt and my uncle gave some to me. I couldn’t wait because I love both of these vegetables. He knows a lot about gardening and plants. He teaches me about this kind of stuff and I really like it that he teaches me.

Flowers and vegtables are not the only items I have in my garden. I have a bird bath, flower pots, vines, banana plants and elephant ear plants and more. If my flowers don’t grow well in my garden, I’ll get some more  flower seeds either at Lowe’s or Home Depot or Tractor Supply. I’m really excited to plant flowers during the fall season, I will be posting pictures on Twitter, Instagram and Flipboard to show their progress.

Part of our community goals for Team Awesomism is that we are helping people with autism, anxieties, GAD and ADHD overcome their fears and stress and find their comfort zones whatever they’re interested in doing. Golfing, fishing, walks, listening to music and gardening are all part of comfort zones, which we are trying to help people find their activities that make them feel comfortable or happy. We will be rebranding this website in upcoming months. It’ll be somewhat different than what we originally branded. Much of the concept will stay, just expanded!

For those of you who are members of Team Awesomism, soon you will be getting some gardening tips, videos from several different sources, and signing up on our email list that all are experienced gardeners.

We will have all kinds of gardening tips, from how to have a fall/winter garden in warmer climates to indoor container gardens. My mother will be doing videos of me planting my flowers and vegetables in my garden by using a periscope video. She will be posting videos on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to have you watch me planting my stuff in the garden. If you have a Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest account, please follow us.

I’m going to be getting my seeds soon. If anyone has any requests of what they would like to see me grow, please let me know! I would love to hear that! I’d also love to hear any advantages and tips for my garden from you!
